The third section shows a series of poses, and which Pose Groups they belong to. An example of a Pose Group is the Normal Group. It’s called Normal because everything about this pose fits within the normal range. For example, a head that is normal sized. A normal body position. A normal limb position, and so on. This allows you to match and check poses quickly when you switch from one Pose Group to the next.
What poses can I use? While posing, think about what’s really important to the story. What if the scene has an emotional or dramatic moment? If you’re not sure, pose the character to begin with and then decide as you go.
There are many things to consider when posing, from how the character looks, to how the scene is lighting, to whether the subject has good posture, to what pose looks best. If you aren’t sure, just test it out. It’s best to photograph against a flat surface, such as a wall or a piece of paper, to avoid reflections.
Basically, this pose has the following:
The shoulders pulled back and down to give the feeling of having the head pulled up.
The head pulled back and up to create space.
The elbows are bent to allow for the foreshortened forearm.
