“If the xy, zx, and zy controls of a super emitter are each set to 1, the super emitter will emit a high number of particles, and if each of those controls are set to 0, the super emitter will emit a low number of particles. If both the zx and zy controls are set to 0, the emitter won’t emit any particles.”
When I first started writing text about emitter nodes and particle system, this material covered the topic a bit, but I actually decided to try to make a more complete article about particle system. That means you'll need to go back and read section 4.1 of my article on particle system to understand this setting.
The particle system node is simply a way to configure the type of particle system to emit. It is created by defining the particle system type using the particle system node in the Node Editor, using the options tab, and setting particle type 1 to be the type of particles which will be emitted. Particle system node can be expanded to show all types of particles which can be created, as indicated by the colors above:
Number of particles above determines number of created particles. All color types are created in this node. Entering values above 1 will not necessarily generate more particles. The z value for creating particles along each axis is represented with one of the four color types, with blue being the smallest number of particles and red being the largest. d2c66b5586
