If you’ve been reading our developer blog for some time, you will remember that in the first generation of the De-Verb we replaced a feature similar to a compression/limiter unit with smart hardware modeling and algorithmic features, but over time we’ve amended this interface to provide features that the classic design couldn’t as well. That also happens with the De-Verb Plus, which is perhaps more the product of overall evolution, as the De-Verb Unit is the oldest and most core of all our products. We’ve addressed newer compression technologies in the De-Verb and De-Verb Plus (linear phase and saturation), added the effect of the triggering of per-channel linear phase (which we used for the first time in Mac), implemented and refined the unit’s IR generator and the hybrid distortion model, and restored a number of stability issues. We also deeply tested the unit with an xRack and genre-specific demos and a number of thousands of hours of live sound recordings, and we are absolutely convinced that it’s an all-round winner, enough so that De-Verb Plus is already the choice of decision-makers in broadcast and music industry.
Pedro has dedicated his life to the recording and production of music, having studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, where he graduated in 1997. This experience resulted in over 10 years of professional experience as a studio, and especially mastering engineer, in the USA, UK and Spain. In 2000, Pedro moved to Portugal and started working for Transfield, where he remains and manages a large regional studio complex. In 2014, Pedro’s record label, Ana Coworks, commissioned Pedro to make a new studio, Studio Ana Coworks. Ten years later, Pedro continues to take Ana Coworks to new heights in the audio world. Around the same time, Pedro left Transfield, started working with Audacity, and was asked to support the audio development team at Brainworx. Pedro works full-time supporting and managing the Music Editors and De-Verb brands. Apart from his sculpting creativity, Pedro is an active member of the club electronic music scene, and a member of the graphic design firm Audacity Design Lab. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and working on his own music. d2c66b5586
