If the 2016 subscription is different from the 2017 subscription, you will be able to merge the subscriptions for the number of devices/number of users. NOTE: for 3 devices, you won't be able to merge.
Hi. I'm in a similar situation. I have 2 BitDefender computer security agreements with different numbers of licenses. I have activated the first agreement on both my desktop and laptop and the current license key was valid for 3 years up until yesterday on my desktop and, unbeknown to me, valid for 3 years and 3 months on my laptop. I didn't know this since I set up the license and I had no reason to have the updated version too. I, therefore, wanted to check if this key can be used on my laptop that expired 2 months ago.
It depends on your subscription plan. I assume that you have a plan that allows you to merge the contracts and add validity time to an expired contract. Once you are verified, the support team will be able to resolve the issue.
Currently you can merge your subscription with your previous BitDefender agreements; the validity time of your contract is for Microsoft Windows only. To merge your contract, you have to change the version of your license keys. The following table shows how many days of validity the licenses will have when you merge them. Validity depends on the number of Windows licenses in your agreements; you can add up at most 200 licenses for Windows. Licenses for other operating systems, like Linux, OS X, and Android, have a validity of two years.
After you only have subscription licenses, it's easy to copy the codes and use them. Go to https://support.bitdefender.com/software/software-license-manager/ to verify your licenses and to merge them. d2c66b5586
