U2 dominated the year and it was a good one for the band. In 1995, they won the Best International Act award at the BRIT and, in subsequent years, claimed every major award in the continent. U2 also hooked up for the first time with producer Brian Eno.
U2 went on their longest break and the longest tour in their history in 1996, the Year of the Machine. The tour ended quite sadly though, with Bono's getting hit by a Mercedes-Benz and having to undergo hand surgery in 1997.
While Bono was in North America recovering, the band, along with Pixies, started up another tour in the U.K. with Pop and Magnificent Mutilation as support. It's here that we get the first usage of the intro to What The Trees Say that was featured in the Zoo TV film.
U2 ended the year with the release of a remix of When The Circus Comes and Magnificent - both of which were Mute – and they went on a world tour. This was both very well received, with songs such as The Cry being well received by audiences and reviewers alike.
In November 2016, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots joined Jarred Weisfeld's new Canadian supergroup Jackson One, their only album being the 2016's self-titled debut. Mr. Weisfeld later returned he and other members to JTP and released their fourth album in October 2019. Still, Weisfeld has remained with Pearl Jam, who have expressed interest in having him on their next album.
This is the sixth album in the "Reputation" series. I think it's a bit of a throwback to the "Speak Now" album with its style and way of thinking. The record has the best songs of the whole series on it. d2c66b5586
